When Sitri descended on the Prime world where he was eventually captured by the part-celestial ancestors of Grand Duke Patafian, he was filled with hubris and evil intent. The cambion had lived by its wits in the City of Doors up until that moment, always an underdog to the stronger forces of the Nine Hells. Filled with dark ambion and a sense of inferiority, he pledged to corrupt and conquer these lands of the clueless fools who lived there.
Spending almost two centuries trapped in the Grand Duke's dungeons, he initially hated those who had trapped him with a passion but came to blame his own pride and foolishness over the years. In a state of almost constant meditation forgotten by most of the world above expect the wardens who sustained him, Sitri spent his days locked in a world of his own creation. One day, the foolish princess Clemence Patafian of the von Schilda learned of the fiend under her castle and demanded to see the poor thing. Irritated by the interruption and enraged by the realization that this was the descendant of his capturer, Sitri lashed out at the princess. Still, she refused to leave him be in his own misery.
Infuriating as the naivete of the third-born princess was, she proved herself a worthy debater once Sitri finally yielded to his loneliness and began conversing with the princess. The initial plans of escape and violent death for the descendants of his capturor were slowly being replaced with a raw yet genuine feeling of sympathy for the sickly, redundant girl stuck on a minor duchy of a meaningless prime world. As the two conversed, Sitri suggested that were he provided with a jewel to store princess Clemence's essence, he would show her the planes she would otherwise be unable to even imagine. Her body would not last long in any case, so it would be better to choose a form which would allow the two to continue their journey as long as possible. The princess agreed, well-aware of her impending doom brought about as a result of the incestious ways of her noble line.
While he tried his best to hide it, the taint of his lineage has released Sitri. Through centuries of meditation on his actions and the cleansing influence of princess Clemence, he was able to realize the futility in dominating others. Instead, Sitri has become a melancholic and reflective person who is still trying to understand the new feelings he has come to bear.
